Roosevelt’s many activities and events are powered by parent volunteers, and there are many ways to share your talents with our school.  Whether you are able to chair a committee or just lend a hand for an hour here and there, our volunteers are a valued asset of our community.

Back to School Picnic – Chairperson

Our first community event of the year is ready to be revamped!  Coordinate with our Booster Club President to secure food trucks, organize field games and potentially community sponsor booths.  New ideas welcome and ready for a new chairperson!

Booster Club President – Shadow

Our Booster Club President is entering her final year at Roosevelt and this is the perfect opportunity to shadow this very important leadership role.  The Booster Club is the fundraising arm of PTA and oversees some of our biggest events:  Auction, Family Dance, Carnival, and the Dad’s Club events:  Poker Night and Camping on Campus. 

Ed Foundation Liaison – Lower Grade & Upper-Grade Coordinator

Help our Ed Foundation Liaison with fundraising efforts and spreading the word about the direct benefits of the Ed Foundation dollars to our classrooms. Upper and Lower Grade Coordinators help communicate the programs funded specifically for K-2 and 3-5 and help implement district-wide initiatives.

Annual Giving – Chairperson Shadow

Annual Giving raises money for PTA to be used right at Roosevelt. It pays for the “stuff” that state and district funding do not cover like computers, educational software used by all students and more.  Train with our outgoing chairperson on the Annual Giving campaigns and organize fundraising initiatives. 

Legislation Chairperson

Are you passionate about the legislation that affects our schools and community?  PTA is the largest advocacy group for children in the nation.  Keep our unit PTA up to date on local and state initiatives affecting our school. (Appointed by PTA President – Voting Position on Exec Board)

Popcorn Friday – Coordinator & Chairperson Shadow

Coordinator – We need someone to coordinate the schedule of volunteers through email or Sign Up Genius each week.

Chairperson Shadow – Our current chairperson is entering her last year at Roosevelt.  Train alongside our Popcorn Friday expert on ordering supplies and snacks, using the popcorn machine and set up/clean up.  Bring a friend to be your co-chair and make it a team effort! 

Book Fair – Chairperson Shadow

Our current chairperson is entering her last year at Roosevelt.  Train alongside her during our two Scholastic book fairs and learn how to organize and run these successful fundraisers.  Sign up with a friend and co-chair!

Yearbook – Chairperson Shadow, Photographers, Editor, 5th Grade Liaison

Chairperson Shadow  – After several years of publishing our beautiful yearbook, our current chairperson is ready to pass on the torch.  Train the entire year alongside her in organizing the committee volunteers, photographers, editors, and publisher details.

PTA Reflections – Chairperson

This is a national PTA sponsored art competition in need of a chairperson to organize our Roosevelt event in the fall.  Secure judges to select the student entries that go on to the PTA Council level and possibly all the way to the national level.  This year is the 50th Anniversary of Reflections with the theme, “Heroes Among Us” 

Read-a-Thon – Chairperson & Coordinator

Chairperson* – This three-week long fundraiser needs someone to oversee the info packets, coordinate the tallying of reading minutes each week, sponsorship donations, prizes and other Read-a-Thon related events (Reading Lounge, Author visits, Pajama Night). 

TV Turn Off Tuesday Coordinator

Organize teacher and parent volunteers to catch kids reading on the three Tuesday nights of the Read-a-Thon. Last year’s chairperson is available to work alongside and train all positions. 

Auction – Co-Chair

Our Auction Chairperson is looking for a co-pilot to throw the biggest fundraiser of the year! Team up to coordinate donations for the live and online auctions, select a venue, catering, and entertainment. 

Graphic Design Team – NEW

This is a NEW committee!  If you have expertise in creating flyers, logos, stickers, etc. please consider joining this team that will be called upon at various times throughout the year to make our Roosevelt flyers and communications look snazzy!

Bulletin Boards – Coordinator – NEW

Are you creative and crafty?  We are looking to better utilize our bulletin board space around campus and create eye-catching, informative bulletin boards for our many events and activities. This is another opportunity to team with a friend and have a flexible commitment.

Box Tops – Chairperson

Clip and count Box Tops to raise money for our school.  Organize school-wide contests to get more participation, count them up and send them in.  Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.  This is a great “entry to the PTA/Booster” job to share with a BFF co-chair.

Carnival – Raffle & Prize Coordinator

Everyone loves prizes!  Be the person to put smiles on faces by coordinating the Raffle & Prizes for next year’s Carnival!

First Day Packets – ChairpersonOrganize the 1st Day Packet contents (provided) and man the copiers with a team of volunteers to get ready for Packet Stuffing Day on August 21st!  Take this on and your big volunteer commitment for the year is over before school even starts!
