Roosevelt Community Cookbook

In the spirit of health and wellness, the Wellness Committee is proud to support the Santa Monica School District Wellness Policy by launching a new community builder with our inaugural Roosevelt Community Cookbook.

The theme this year is:  “Home Cooking”.  Yes, it’s a broad topic, but eating home-cooked meals increases healthier eating habits, increases the child’s learning of nutrition,  increases our learning about other people’s cultures through food and eating home-cooked meals with family and friends increases the family and community bond.

Send In Your Recipes!!

Please help us launch the cookbook by turning in your favorite home-cooked recipe. We also request a quote from your child answering the following: 1. Why do you like this recipe? 2. Tell us something about cooking at home that you like. 3. What’s your favorite fruit or vegetable? Add their name and grade. Return typed recipes and quotes to rooseveltwellnesscommittee@gmail.comRecipes and quotes are due February 28th.

Recipes can be a main meal (vegetarian, vegan or animal protein), instant pot or crockpot recipes, side dishes, desserts, after school snacks, school lunch meals.
